After our first ever trip to Butlin’s Minehead this summer, I can officially confirm one thing: you are not going to be bored. We booked five nights pretty last minute, and I honestly didn’t realise quite how much there would be to do once we got there. Between the shows, swimming, parks, arcades, rides and all the extra activities you can book, our days were absolutely packed.

One thing I am not saying no to is a night away in a gorgeous hotel. Add a huge comfy bed, a coffee machine in the room and breakfast the next morning, and honestly, I am SOLD. We recently stayed at the Forest of Arden Hotel near Birmingham for a little night away, and it was such a gorgeous stay.
I would love to tell you that I have always been one of those people who can pack for a trip in a tiny carry-on, take three outfits and coordinate them so well that I don’t need anything else, but I haven’t. There are loads of amazing family attractions nearby, perfect for keeping everyone happy no matter their age, and trust me, with an 8-year-old and a 22-year-old, I know the age gap struggle can be real! :)
A weekend away was just what we needed, and our 3-night stay at Richardson’s Holiday Park in Norfolk was the perfect break. Fun, carefree and full of so many laughs, it really helped us recharge and make some unforgettable family memories this summer.

Summer just wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the zoo. The girls absolutely love it, and it is always such a lovely, long day out. One of our go-to spots when we visit my mum in Norfolk is Thrigby Wildlife Gardens in Filby, and if you haven’t been yet, pop it on your must-visit list!
